You might not want to know this, but...

Like first off, let’s just think of the fact that language is constantly changing. No, this is not new and due to “texting destroying everything.” Since it’s constantly changing, no matter how minutely, you can’t expect something as unmalleable as a dictionary to accurately reflect the words within a language. Obviously they can be extremely useful, but you have to take that into account. Also, it doesn’t really reflect the connotations of a word.
Second, you have to take into account the ulterior motives and whatnot of those coming up with the definitions of words. If you have someone who hates snakes, their definition isn’t going to be positive. If you have someone who doesn’t know shit about what nuclear means, the definition will be vague. This rule applies for issues of race as well. It only makes sense.
